The Richins need our help! Kendall has been in and out of Cincinnati Childrens hospital since Nov 1st, with this last stay going on a month with no discharge date at this point. They know that once she is finally discharged, they will be required to come back weekly for treatments for an extended period of time, how extended no one knows. This family has been put through the wringer these last couple of months. It's so hard to be in the hospital, trying to figure out what's going on and how to help your child, but to be there for the majority of the whole holiday season is heartbreaking on a whole different level. Rhonda has been able to come home for a day here and there, but has been at the hospital for most of December, a lot of November, and so far all of January helping care and advocate for Kendall. Aside from what she and Kendall have been going through and dealing with at the hospital, Rhonda has four other children at home who have been missing their Mom and sister for all this time. This holiday season wasn't filled with cookie decorating, light seeing, Christmas shopping and spending quality family time together like it was for you and I. It was simply about surviving, with dad Ryan doing the best he could to make up for the void of Mom and sister being gone, while working as a civil servant. As many are aware, the Richins' girls, Reagan and Rylynn, have been very active in serving the community this past year. The "Be Kind" signs you see outside of businesses and homes have been made by them, with all the proceeds going to local charitable causes . Well now it's our chance to "Be Kind" in return. There isn't a lot people can do to help in situations such as these. We all have our lives and families we have to take care of, but if we can help ease the financial burden, even just a little, that would be so helpful and such an easy way to give back to this family who have served and loved so many in our community. From the Mom that's a nurse, to the Dad that's a civil servant, to the kids who have made so many signs, to the family that has adopted two special needs children out of the foster care system, they are the epitome of service and love. Lets show them how amazing karma can be in giving just a little bit back. If we all lift a little, this very heavy burden can be made light.
