My name is Natalie and I have recently (12/9) brought home an adorably sweet & spunky cavapoo puppy named Penelope. Around 33 hours after we brought her home, she began to vomit, become severely lethargic, and have diarrhea. I immediately took her to Emergency Vet and she tested positive for Parvo.
My Penny deserves a fighting chance against this terrible virus, which is why I hospitalized her so that she could have the best care while she fought this thing off.
The vet bill is looking to be about $5000 initially with more increase depending on how many days she is there. Every cent will go straight to her vet bill for isolation, IV drips, feeding tubs, ultrasounds, etc. I am looking to raise this amount by the end of the month.
This is my first dog and I am completely shocked and wracked with guilt over this. I certainly was not expecting to be paying this amount so quickly for her, although I would pay anything to give this sweet girl a fighting chance.
In the two nights I've had her, she has provided me with so much sweet warmth and love. She loves to be snuggled right by my neck and loves to give me kisses or just cuddled up in my sweatshirt. She follows me around everywhere and I just want the best for her.
I looked into getting Penny because I read how amazing a dog’s companionship can be, especially for those suffering from PTSD and Panic Disorders. For all the love and comfort Penny will provide me, she deserves all the love and comfort in return.
This is why I am asking for help to be able to pay for her vet bills. This has been a nightmarish situation that I wish on no pet owner or lover of animals.
Thank you to anyone who donates or sends a kind message. I appreciate it more than anything. Please keep Penny in your thoughts, donation or no donation.
