Exercise for Education

Paying for Education with Exercises, its something God has put in my heart. As I make my way next month into my 30s I have been doing some deep thinking on what I can add to my birthday wish list. But soon I realized I have been blessed beyond measures. I have everything I asked for and much more.
I came to the United States at the age of six from Honduras. I spoke absolutely not a word of English. Coming to a new country, and not understanding the culture or the language was a shock to me. Three years later, I had immersed into the cultured, picked up the language and began my journey into middle school, high school and soon graduating from Penn State University with a BS in Life Science. And that's when it hit me, I was blessed to have the opportunity of getting an EDUCATION! Not just any education but one in the Land of Opportunities, something that's a far fetch dream to a child in Honduras.
Honduras is a third world country. It's a country where violence, corruption, and insecurities are endemic and poverty widespread. Youth are those most affected by this environment. It's a country where education is a luxury and children of all ages are forced to drop out of school to help their families survive! These children are forced to roam the streets selling, cleaning, picking up cans just to make ends meet. It breaks my heart! It makes me think, how FORTUNATE we are to have the things we have! Something as accessible to us as education is considered a luxury! We should all have the privilege to go to school, to become young leaders, to live our dreams, and be able to help our families!
Becuase of the love of my country, my passion to help others, and the many blessings God has blessed me with Matthew and I decided to donate to O.Y. E. OYE ( Organization of Youth Empowerment ) was founded in 2005. It was inspired by a vision of a society where youth are given the knowledge and skills to become empowered young leaders and create positive change in their lives. Every month we have been helping OYE send disadvantaged youth to school. We have helped to provide shoes, bookbags, books, school supplies, school tuition and even bus fares!!
This year around I wanted to take a different approach. I can't begin to explain how God has answered my prayers. How much God has given my family and me, and how He's never left our side. He has blessed me with a platform and the gift of helping others, and there is no way I could spend my 30th bday, on something for me!! I want to continue helping OYE send children to school because EDUCATION shouldn't be luxury!! I want to combine, Education and exercising ( my passion) to be able to provide children an education!! Both of these two things combine have changed my life and I know it can change others!
August 2018, I will be traveling to Honduras to personally give the organization the money!!! Through my own journey, I have learned that when God blesses, it's not meant to raise your standard of living but instead to raise our standard of giving and making a difference in someone else's life.
For the next months to come, I will be sharing tons of free fitness content and boot camps around the city in hopes to collect donations!
