Hi, my name is Sierra Emilaire. On Saturday, May 7, 2022, I found myself in a ditch off of 295 in Washington, DC. It was a rainy and cold day - the roads were slippery, leading to 3 other accidents in the same mile radius as mine within an hour after my accident. On my drive home that night, around 11:40 p.m., my car began to hydroplane towards the right side of the road, which would have led me off into the trees below. In trying to regain control of the vehicle, I turned the steering wheel, and that is when the front left axle broke on me and sent the car spiraling off the road into a ditch. I have had this car for about eight months. I bought it with 77,000 miles on it. A 2003 Toyota Camry with two prior owners and purchased from a "trusted" mechanic friend of my father who sold it to me for $3,000 to $4,000 more than it was worth. Regardless of the legal action that should be taken for being sold a car that tried to take my life, I, at the time, did not have the total amount to purchase the vehicle. SO, I am left with $6,000+ owed on the personal loan I took out for the car and its fees. I don't ask for help, practically ever - but I don't have any other options seeing that the insurance has told me they will not cover this accident.
Any donation helps soften the blow of this situation and this debt. Please share with anyone you know.
