Dear Friends, Colleagues, Brothers and Sisters in Humanity
I am requesting for your kind help with paying off the debts of a friend who is last stage cancer patient.
His name is Nwad Rahim and originally, he is from Sulaymania in Kurdistan region of Iraq. He has been living in Plymouth with his wife and they have a beautiful 2 year old son who is not even aware of what his father is going through.
Nwad does not have any other relatives in the UK, just friends (and I am amongst one of his friends). Nwad is suffering from Paranasal Sinus Cancer, Unfortunately when he was diagnosed (late 2024) it was already an advanced cancer and, in December 2024 he had lost one of his eyes, Doctors had given him around 6 months and we were doing a fundraiser amongst friends to send him to see his family in Iraq.
Nwad is currently admitted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth PL6 8DH, he is in the Brent Ward (8th Floor), As of today (2nd January 2025) at 1pm his health situation deteriorated and he has gone into a coma.
Before his illness, Nwad was the sole breadwinner for his family and he was working as a delivery driver and doing any other jobs that were offered to support his family. With his illness, he was not able to work and he has currently accumulated debts of approx. £12K which are owed to various people mostly in UK and some in Kurdistan (as he has not been able to support his family due to Cancer).
Nwad has family back in Kurdistan who relied upon him financially. Your help from this fundraiser will be solely used to help to repay Nwad’s debts and to pay for the expenses of sending his body back to his hometown in Iraq so that his family can fulfil his final rights.
I wanted to remind us all of by sharing translation of a beautiful saying of Prophet Muhammad (SAW): “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah (God) will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter”
We have been blessed with faith, Health, families, and countless other blessings. There is no difference in humanity between us and those who are suffering and we could have been amongst them, I humbly request that you find it in your heart to give something towards Nwad’s fundraiser, no amount is too little.

What do we need the money for
- To pay off his debts
- To send him back to Iraq if he comes out of coma or to send his remains back to Iraq should his soul depart.
