In July, I will be entering postulancy with the Capuchin Order in the St. Joseph Province. Their mission is to serve the poor in the Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Montana areas. Their service helps to bring not only temporary help but long-term help through programs that provide skills for work, financial, and mental help.
I have been for several years discerning religious life and priesthood, and God has led me to join the Capuchin order. I have been a teacher for 7 years; several of them teaching English to inner-city students. For the last 2 years, I was a missionary in Wisconsin with a ministry called Spiritus. During these years I grew in community, faith, and prayer life while developing skills that would help me be an instrument of God.
It was during this time that God pulled me closer to Him, seeking out service to others and living the mission life beyond my ministry years. And now I am currently discerning with the Capuchin Franciscan Order.
There are several financial hurdles that I need to take care of before I enter. My personal debt "averages" around $15,000.
I am hoping to raise the funds necessary to cover my debt, so that I could follow the Lords path for me. Thank you so much for your support.
God Bless,
Scott
