Pay medical bills for surgery

Hi, my name is Shelley, and I'm trying to raise funds to pay our deductible for an upcoming bariatric surgery. I have survived a lot of trials in my 59 years; the Loma Prieta Earthquake in '89, a cardiac event that forced me to retire early, floods, fires, and a diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder called Ehler's-Danlos Syndrome, the last of which has greatly contributed to my current state. I have become functionally homebound and have been told that without the surgery I have no chance of getting any kind of quality of life back. I recently moved to a new area, bought a house that had way more issues than I was led to believe, so any savings I had is gone, and nobody is going to loan me any more money either. Looking back, I have always paid my way, and this is the first time I have every asked for anyone's help outside of my family, but this time, those resources are long gone. This is pretty much my last ditch effort to be able to afford the surgery, I'm not ready to give up yet! I spent my whole life as a teacher and a nurse, helping others, and am humbly asking for some help now.
