Help Lita pay medical bills after collision!

If you know me, you know how much I love my bike. As my only transportation (outside of walking), it was how I ran errands, got to work, and had fun. Mid-November, early in the afternoon, I was out on a bike ride, in the bike lane on a street I've biked dozens of times. When a car turned in front of me, my next memory was of being in an ambulance with excruciating pain in my left shoulder.

In the hospital, I was told I'd suffered an "inferior dislocation" of my left arm, which means my arm was basically pulled down out of the shoulder joint. After it was pulled back into position, I got multiple x-rays and a CT scan to ensure I didn't have internal bleeding. I had small cuts in my mouth and my nose, knee, and forearm were badly scraped and bloody. Late into the evening, I was released and a friend took me to the fire station that was holding onto my bike so we could get the keys for my apartment.

In addition to the dislocation, I fractured my "greater tuberosity," which is the bump of bone at the top of the shoulder. Fun fact: this bone is where part of the rotator cuff connects, which is impeding my mobility even months later.

Since then, I've been struggling to cover medical bills while waiting for reimbursement. I have physical therapy twice a week in addition to visits with an orthopedist every 4-6 weeks, which means paying for more x-rays. I still need to pay for the ambulance.

At this point, I've used up over half of my savings, since this happened just two weeks after I went from full-time employment to being self-employed. I currently can't get a part-time job to help with bills since I have no transportation and still have limited mobility and strength in my left shoulder.

Money raised will go towards paying medical bills as well as taking care of my pets and myself, as I can no longer bike to the grocery store and now pay extra fees for grocery delivery. Any amounts helps more than I can say, and I appreciate your support!
