Pay it forward. Help Walt Fales!

Donation protected
Walt Fales has dedicated a huge portion of his life to helping others through volunteering. He has done so with generosity, playfulness, wisdom, passion, and compassion.

Here are a few examples of his volunteer involvement.

He drives hundreds of miles to pick up donated musical instruments to be refurbished and given to children through Hungry For Music

Walt has also helped bring laughter and entertainment to countless thousands with the yearly production, A Night of a Hundred Elvises, in order to benefit children at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Walt uses his "radio voice" to record audio books for the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for better than a decade, so the sight-impaired and others can listen to their favorite authors.

He is also active with MYPIC (Maryland Youth Partners in Change) a forum that guides, teaches and promotes the understanding of self, and service to others.

Walt has been a Dale Carnegie instructor for more than 40 years, helping people transform their lives.

There are innumerable 'small acts of kindness' that have peppered Walt Fales' life, be it pressure-washing an elder's deck, helping a friend find mobility and dignity after a stroke, or driving to Tennessee to help a family member cut up a 140-foot oak, to … well … the list is endless.  This is a lifetime of service.

And today, this life is facing a challenge that is at present both overwhelming and incomprehensible.

Several months ago Walt thought arthritis was affecting him. Bones and joints ached, his ability to move became hampered … A day arrived when his ability to move, literally dropped out from under him. A trip to the doctor culminated in a shocking diagnosis … that of bone cancer. "Get your affairs in order” was the basic admonition and prescription.

With the help of Walt's spouse Susi, innumerable close friends and family, Walt has chosen to believe in miracles for himself. There are several 'non-traditional' paths in front of him. For the greatest part these paths are not financially covered by traditional insurance.

Yet if choice and hope are to be the forefront of this path Walt is walking, a vast majority of funding must come from others.

If you wish to help create the full circle of giving, with Walt on the receiving end, please show your love, admiration and gratitude by making a donation of whatever size you are guided to give. The goal is to raise $100,000. URGENTLY.

Asking for a miracle, you may think?  Well … not really … especially to support a man who has helped create 'miracles' for others’.   And so, in closing (and in those immortal words of Elvis)... 'Thank you, uh, Thank you vury much!”  Blessings one and all.

PLEASE, share this with everyone you know to pay it forward.
