Help Pay For the Emergency Surgery of my Sweet Kitty Assam

My name is Gavin, and I'm trying to raise funds for my sweet, sweet boy Assam.

I found Assam in September of 2023, in a Taco Bell drive-thru. He had been there for a while before I decided to rescue him, surviving on the generosity of customers feeding him scraps. From the start, he was the sweetest boy. He immediately warmed up to me and instantly became a part of my world.

On March 1st, 2025, I took Assam to the vet on suspicion of a possible urinary tract infection. Upon further analysis, it was apparent that his urine was highly alkaline, meaning he needed to be put on a lifetime diet of special veterinarian-prescribed food. I thought this would help ease his discomfort and solve his problems.

Less than 2 weeks later on March 10th, I came home from work on break and noticed he was going in and out of the litter box again, but this time he would come out and start grooming his behind while meowing in pain. I had done my research and figured that he might have had a urinary tract blockage, which is life-threatening. I rushed him to the emergency veterinarian clinic, where they ran some tests and did a radiograph. They found that he had a very large bladder stone, and it would require surgery ASAP.

I have already spent around $1100 on the two exams, and this surgery will be very costly. I am a first-generation college student surviving on government grants and part-time pay. There is no way I will be able to make enough money to pay for his surgery, as well as post-operative care for him. I have been quoted just over $3000 for the procedure. The money donated will be used to cover the cost of surgery as well as care for him post-op.
