Pay for Required Tumor Removal Surgery
Donation protected
I can’t begin to thank you all enough for helping me to be able to have the tumor removal surgery on Wednesday! It took a lot of humility to be able to ask for help - I’m not good at asking for anything. Since I’ve been sick, I’ve seen the amount of people who love me and that is the best part! I’ll be recovering for about 4 weeks then I’ll have my brain tumor scans to see the growth pattern there. My goal is to get out of the wheelchair (which I use for my neurological diseases) and get back to work!
Love you all!
Dear Friends:
On October 2, I had a stroke like episode. It resembled a seizure, I had no control of my limbs and my body began contorting. I was unable to speak as my face was spasming which affected my mouth. My sister called the ambulance and I was admitted that night and began a 16-day hospital stay. Thank God for this episode (which was later diagnosed as Idiopathic Dystonia Syndrome, a neurological movement disorder) because the next day my scans showed that I have a brain tumor. Later scans showed that I also have an ovarian tumor. During this stay I had to learn how to walk with a walker, which I now alternate with a wheelchair, learned I have asthma, thyroid nodules, functional neurological disease and a few other things. I was immediately put on disability because the brain tumor is causing cognitive issues and also the dystonia episodes happen often and with little notice. My life as I knew it is drastically different and as it is the new year, my deductible has to be met.
I have surgery to remove my ovaries on Wednesday, January 10, and since MetLife has not paid me my benefits (I have learned they are a scam), I have to pay my portion for the surgery. As of today, I have none of the money to pay for it.
My salary has dropped to 60% and I will most likely have to move (couch surf) until Hudson graduates. As you can imagine, my stress level is so high.
So many people have said to ask if I need anything and so far I’ve tried to do it on my own and asking for help doesn’t come easy. So I humbly ask, if you can, please consider donating so I can have this surgery Wednesday.
Thank you!
