Meet Nicole Rojas, a beautiful 23-year-old daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Nicole is currently facing a battle she never imagined—fighting breast cancer with courage and grace.

Those who know Nicole describe her as someone who radiates joy and positivity, always greeting the world with a smile no matter what life brings her way. Even through this difficult journey, she has remained incredibly strong, hopeful and full of faith.

Nicole was diagnosed earlier this year with an aggressive form of breast cancer known as Triple-Positive Breast Cancer (luminal type, HER2 amplified at 35%). This means her cancer tested positive for estrogen receptors (ER+), progesterone receptors (PR+), and HER2. In other words, the cancer grows in response to hormones and the HER2 protein.

After completing six rounds of chemotherapy in October, Nicole now prepares for the next stage of her treatment—a lumpectomy surgery during which doctors will also remove a quadrant of her breast to ensure that all traces of cancer are gone. This is set to happen at the end of this month.

After surgery she will have to start immunotherapy while receiving radiotherapy. The plan is than to continue with an anti hormonal therapy for the following five years.

Unfortunately, this surgery (approx cost $8000 USD) is very costly, and even with insurance, the expenses are not fully covered. Nicole is currently unable to work, and the loss of income has added even more strain during this already difficult time. Her family has been doing everything possible to support her medical and daily needs, but the financial strain has become difficult to manage.
