Hi, my name is Dontae & I'm trying to raise money for my oldest brother Morris Haley due to the stroke he suffered on 17 Jul 22. Coach Mo is getting better he was even moved from ICU today (25 Jul) and placed on a regular floor at the Hospital.

SRkoke!!!!!HELP

On Sunday, July 17th “SRkoke HELP” were the cries for help posted by my brother Morris Haley as he was undergoing a stroke alone in his apartment. After trying to signal his distress to his neighbors outside his apartment, he manages to turn to Facebook (his favorite social media space), for emergency help. Immediate his friends and family begin to work to get him help. (Someone was watching over him that day).

People from his Facebook page begin to work together to obtain and share his address. His post quickly gained over four hundred commitments. These good citizens got the police and ambulance to his house. THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO SAVE HIS LIFE!

Once he made it to Memorial hospital God had his angels already there working right alongside the doctors. The Doctors began working quickly to stabilize, and everything went well. On Monday, July 18th, 2022, Morris started talking and cracking jokes and trying to get out of bed, basically, just being Morris haha. But one thing that was very important to him was to get on Facebook live and thank all his friends for their help and prayer, and to let everyone know that he was OKAY!

Sadly, the next day, Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, he suffered another stroke that was stronger than the first. He was rushed into an emergency procedure ( Angioplasty) where they had to literally go inside to locate the blockage that caused the second stroke. It was rough, he was still coherent and very worried. As he was being rushed to his procedure, he asked for prayers. After four hours, the doctor came out and to us, the procedure went well. WHEN PRAYERS GO UP, BLESSINGS COME DOWN!

Now to the ask.

Morris didn’t have any medical insurance. My Aunt was able to do his Medicare application online. But if you don’t know the approval process can take 90+ days. We tried private medical insurance but keep hitting roadblock after roadblock due to it not being enrollment season. I was also told no for the special enrollment exemption.

His caseworker at Memorial is also working on a charity case to get him in an inpatient facility but his doctor told me the chances are VERY slim because it’s the end of the month and quotas are probably already filled.

Upon discharge (which could be by the end of the week) Coach Mo will need some type of inpatient rehab for his communication functions & the weakness of the left side of his body.

The money raised will go directly to Mo’s rehab and any outstanding bills he has. No amount is too small. I’m sure we can all come together as a village and make this happen for Mo.

Any leftover money will go directly to Morris to help him get back on his feet.
