Pay for living expenses while Katty attends school!

Hi it's Katalina! I'm attending Athabasca U this semester to take some PSYC prerequisites so I can apply to the Masters in Counseling program next Fall. However, I cannot get student loans for just courses! While some lovely friends have given me the money for tuition, I am left in a lurch for living expenses for the rest of the year. Even $2500 will be tight but I am used to making money stretch.

The goal for my practice will be to offer *ACTUAL* sliding scale for poor clients, between $30-$50 per session (or free if possible). As I am pursuing psychotherapist accreditation I will be able to charge many client's insurance and will ensure that I am able to cover the cost of this sliding scale by also seeking clients who are able to pay a full fee ($100-$200+)

I want to focus on helping impoverished clients, sex workers, trans people in rural areas, artists, and anyone who is looking for help in their lives with mental health. I have already been deep in the work for the last ten years on the front lines of activism and anti-oppressive spaces. I don't see many other trans women in this field and I want to help change that.

For transparency: tuition for this semester is $3000 total, and each half was paid for by a dyke and a transsexual. So if you're a straight and/or cis friend of mine who has money now would be the time to give. YOU GOTTA GIIIVE.
