Help us pay for Jimmy's cancer treatment

Hi, my name is Aline. The cat in the pics above is Jimmy, a 10 year old little dude full of personality. We live in Brazil.

A little while ago, a very small growth appeared on Jimmy's nose. At first it looked like he had maybe hurt himself by scratching too hard (it wouldn't be the first time); even a vet took a look at it during an appointment and didn't think much of it or ask for exams. Since december, however, it started growing. And it was growing fast.

I took him back to the vet in january to get it looked at and the vet thought treating for inflammation was a good first option, so Jimmy took corticosteroids for a few days. The swelling on his nose did go down slightly, but not enough, so after a couple of weeks I took him in again to get it checked. After a biopsy and a very long three weeks waiting for the results, we got back the result saying it was sarcoma, a type of cancer.

After the biopsy was done, I took him to two different oncologists, he did a few more tests. Somehow the tumor seemed to grow faster after the first biopsy, getting to the point that it was starting to block his nostrils and make it harder for him to breathe sometimes. The oncologists recommended a surgery to remove the tumor and an electrochemotherapy session, to begin with (though he might need another one later) and we did it on march 14th. Jimmy is now home, recovering, and we'll check back in with the vet in a few days to see what needs to be done next.

The treatment has, so far, cost $1360 (6846 brazilian reais). If he does end up needing a second session of electrochemotherapy, which seems likely, the total will probably go up at least another $600. Most of it was paid for with help from friends or using my credit card, since I didn't have the money, but he needed treatment fast.
