Hi Friends,
This is the most humbling thing I’ve ever had to do. I never imagined at 60 years of age I’d be the one asking for help. Nearly three months ago my ex husband stopped paying alimony; he has five more years to go based on our divorce agreement. Alimony is my only source of income; I was a stay at home mom for the duration of our marriage, raising our daughter and caring for the farm and home. I live alone in a 250 square foot off grid cabin in the woods of Northern Maine. I share the homestead with my beloved horse Mystic, three goats (Bluebell, Alston, Pan), chickens (Ruth, Esther, Jemima Puddle Chicken) dogs (Bailey, Annie) and cats (Gray, Sandy). A number of these animals were rescued and ones that we had during our married life together. My animals (whom I refer to as my babies) are my constant companions; I love them so much and honestly do not think I would have survived the heartbreaking end of my 28 year marriage without them. During the past few months I have been quite ill and am dealing with an on-going low blood pressure issue. My stamina is at an all time low which makes basic activities pretty difficult to say the least. I am embarrassed to say…..I sincerely need help. If there is any way you can find it in your heart to assist me, I would appreciate it more than you could ever imagine. I feel incredibly vulnerable right now. I’ve never been in this position in my life where I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to feed my animals, (much less myself) and pay my most basic monthly bills. I will pray for each person who reads this and I ask for your prayers also. May God richly bless you. Thank you for listening.
