Dolly has been with me since she was 9 months old, rescued from a local shelter. She has always been a quietly friendly cat, though in the last few years has really flourished into a beautiful, confident young lady.

She’s 12 years old now, and has recently developed a thyroid tumour, which we unfortunately are struggling to afford to investigate. It turns out she also has a second tumour at the back of her throat, that is thought to be malignant. She has some potential spread in her lungs already, but will keep you updated on that when we find out more.

Ideally she needs a CT scan which insurance covers, but if she requires a further procedure (which is likely) we are out of money. If this GoFundMe would reach our goal, we would be able to try chemotherapy or help her with medications, to hopefully eliminate the spread of cancer and allow her to live out her last years problem-free. For us, surgery is not an option as the tumour is attached to a part of her neck that makes it far too risky, as well as anaesthesia being trickier as she has a heart murmur. If she is left untreated the tumour could spread to her lungs, or further throughout her body and she would need to be put to sleep.

Any funds are so so so incredibly appreciated, I’ve never done one of these before (and I hope not to again), and I would cry with delight if any money were raised for her. She is my soul cat and the light of my life. Thank you love you.
