Help Save Our Little Girl – Oceana Rain
Hi, my name is Josh, and I’m the proud father of two beautiful little girls (I'm in tears even writing this) — the only girls born in a long line of boys over 2 generations. My eldest is 5, and our youngest, Oceana Rain Marsden, is just 3 years old.
Oceana is our sunshine — always giggling, full of life, chasing the roosters making evenyone cards and presents, she lights up every room she enters. But just a few weeks ago, our world changed in an instant.
What started as a visit to the Innisfail Emergency Room — where we were told she simply had a cold and she was sent home — 2 dsys later this quickly turned into every parent's worst nightmare. Oceana had no fever, no sniffles, no signs of a virus… but within 7 days, she went from being a perfectly healthy, vibrant child to losing 95% of her ability to walk, talk, or even sit up, she just cried with back pain and continued to vomit and request cuddles in bed.
We rushed her to Cairns Emergency, where an MRI revealed something terrifying: a brain tumor, the type you dont want to see!
She was immediately airlifted by helicopter to Townsville Hospital to relieve the pressure caused by spinal fluid trapped in her head, and from there, flown again to Brisbane Children’s Hospital.
Her condition is critical. The tumor is in a bad spot and many think inoperable by conventional standards. The neurosurgeons here don’t believe/have the expertise to say they can safely remove it. We're are looking at any option we can, even if it's overseas and requires private treatments.
There was one man in the world who was willing to try and save her: Dr. Charlie Teo, a world-renowned neurosurgeon who has created his own foundation raising millions for cancer research. But because he works outside the public health system, the cost of the surgery was about $100,000, not including follow-up care, travel, or any complications. Unfortunately her tumor grew faster than anyone expected between MRI scans and she deteriorated so we had to operate urgently in an attempt to just debulk and relieve pressure. JPA's are not typically fast growing and we're told this one is very rare due to growth factor and location.
We are now talking with the Burzynski Clinic in Texas USA where they have a one of a kind caner treatment centre that uses Antineoplaston to treat all kinds of cancers. The treatment plan will cost $17,000 USD per month (approx $26,500) and may require anywhere from 6 to 12 months treatment.
We’re exploring all cancer treatment centres now, all alternative treatment protocols as we reject her palliative diagnoses, she deserves a chance at life.
We’re reaching out, as parents, completely heartbroken and desperate to help save our daughter’s life. Any donation will help us open more doors to get this damn tumor out of her head poor little head and or give her the best quality of life and care there after
If you can help in any way — through donations, sharing this page, or simply sending prayers and love, good vibrations — we would be forever grateful.
There is still hope, we will not give up.
Thank you for helping us fight for Oceana Rain.
With all our hearts,
Josh, Sheryl and Aurora (big sis)
