Pay $5 Forward

I will use this money to give just about anyone $5. All I ask is that those individuals do something nice with the money for another person. I also ask that they share the story of what they did with me, so that I can share it with my followers.

Individuals will fill out a pre-screening questionnaire on my website, where I ask them what they'll do with the money. However, this campaign is based on trust. As long as the applicants live in the US and tell me a short story of how they intend to spend the cash on another person or charitable cause, I will send them the money.

Those stories will then be made public on my social media.

I have already committed over $1,000 of my own personal money to this campaign, and I intend to contribute more when I am financially able.

This is a social media campaign meant to illustrate that your actions matter.

Not in a romanticized flowery way, but in a substantial real-world way. Small selfless gestures can inspire the people around you into doing big selfless gestures.

Some of those people have more power and resources than you could ever dream of having.

If you show those people that you're driven by more than self interest, and you provide them an opportunity to help you, they will help you.

I believe that the vast majority of humanity is good. I believe that I can trust strangers to do good things with my money. And I believe that when you give people an opportunity to show you their values, they'll show you the best parts of themselves.
