Paxton Undlin - Adam and Caleen Undlin
Donation protected
Paxton Undlin was born Thursday, April 20 to proud first-time parents Adam and Caleen Undlin. Shortly after birth, it was found that Paxton has a heart condition known as transposition of the great arteries (TGA). In this rare, serious condition, the large arteries of the heart are reversed.
Right away after his birth, Paxton's nurses knew something was wrong as his oxygen levels were low and not improving. They quickly took him to the NICU, where he underwent several tests, blood work, and scans. This diagnosis was followed by an emergency medical flight to Minneapolis Children's Hospital, where Paxton immediately had a procedure to help him in the short term.
In the near future, Paxton will need an open heart surgery. In preparation for this major surgery, he had an MRI earlier this week. The results of the MRI showed that Paxton had suffered from a stroke sometime after birth. The doctors are hopeful that he will have minimal long-term effects as he grows.
The next steps are waiting for him to recover and get strong enough for his open heart surgery. Paxton, Adam, and Caleen will be staying in Minneapolis for the foreseeable future. We hope Paxton's condition improves quickly, but there is no way to know how long they will be in Minnesota.
The cost of long-term stays, transportation to and from home, and medical expenses are adding up quickly. We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden and stress for Adam and Caleen as they care for their son.
If you are not in a position to give financially, we appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers!
