Meet Lynden: A Brave 6-Year-Old on a Big Journey
Lynden is a bright, playful 6-year-old who loves sparkles, mermaids, Minecraft, and dancing like no one’s watching. Her laugh is contagious, and her imagination knows no bounds. But behind her bubbly personality is a medical journey no child should ever have to face.
Lynden began having seizures when she was just 3 years old. By age 4, she was officially diagnosed with focal epilepsy, and since then, she has endured both complex partial seizures and tonic-clonic seizures—the kind that can cause sudden loss of consciousness, muscle stiffening, and convulsions. These episodes are unpredictable, terrifying, and physically exhausting for such a little girl.
Some days, Lynden might have a seizure that causes confusion and disorientation. Other days, it’s a full tonic-clonic seizure that leaves her unresponsive and at risk of falling or serious injury. These seizures don’t just disrupt her day—they impact every part of her childhood.
Right now, Lynden can't safely sleep alone in her own room. She dreams of going to slumber parties or staying over at a friend’s house—but her seizures make that too risky. At school, her teachers and staff do their best, but her family lives with constant worry.
But there’s hope—and it has four paws, a wagging tail, and a heart full of love.
Lynden is now raising funds for a specially trained seizure response service dog—a dog that can sense the onset of a seizure, alert caregivers, stay by her side to protect and comfort her, and even get help if needed. This dog would be by her side at school, help her gain independence, and most importantly, provide her with the safety and confidence to just be a kid again.
These service dogs are truly life-changing—but they come at a cost. A fully trained seizure response dog costs $25,000 to $30,000, and unfortunately, none of that is covered by insurance. That’s why Lynden and her family are reaching out for your help.
With your support, Lynden can sleep safely in her own bed, feel secure at school, and one day even stay over at a friend’s house—things that many kids take for granted.
Every donation—no matter the amount—brings her one step closer to that freedom. You’re not just helping to fund a service dog. You’re helping give Lynden safety, peace of mind, and the childhood she deserves.
Will you help Lynden meet her hero?
