Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,

We’ve found ourselves in an unexpected and challenging situation that has compelled us to reach out for support. Our beloved Guru, a one-year-old Maine Coon, the most furry and cherished part of our family, is facing a health challenge that requires urgent attention.

Recently, Guru began experiencing severe pain in his hips and hasn’t been able to jump or play as he loves to. After taking him for X-rays, we received the heartbreaking diagnosis of Legg-Perthes disease. This rare condition is causing deterioration and fractures in both of Guru's femur bones at the hip joint.

He urgently needs a Bilateral Femoral Head Osteotomy—surgery to remove both of his hip joints, costing nearly $8,000. Despite the pain he’s in, Guru still attempts to greet everyone with loving headbutts and affection. This surgery is vital for him to live pain-free and he will regain nearly all his mobility, offering him a chance at a long, happy and healthy life.
