Help Give PAWS a New Leash on Life!

Founded in 1962, Pet Animal Welfare Society of Connecticut (“PAWS”) based in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. PAWS is a no kill shelter that rescues and re-homes approximately 200 dogs and 500 cats annually. Many of the dogs are strays from local animal control facilities and most of the cats are strays and abandoned kitties who roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. Our dedicated team (many are volunteers) work tirelessly to ensure that each animal receives the love, attention, and forever home they deserve.

PAWS has a Capital Improvement Plan that we believe is imperative to keep our shelter safe and comfortable for the animals in our care. Accordingly, we are reaching out to the community for support. Your generous donations will directly contribute to the following projects (both underway and planned):

• 10-ton Rooftop Gas Heat & Electric Cool Unit (critical replacement)

• Generator (natural gas fueled) – Unfortunately, there can be power failures due to storms, downed trees and other factors. With PAWS based in Norwalk, CT, this means we can experience very cold days in winter and very hot days in summer. Should we experience a power failure, this generator will protect our furry residents from deadly bitter cold conditions.

• New Roof – To address leaks, damage, drainage, and provide stability for solar panels.

• Solar Panels – Multiple vendors have inspected the flat roof at the PAWS facility and have indicated that there is sufficient space to allow for an installation that will not only reduce our electricity costs (every $ saved can be allocated to the cats and dogs in our care) but will also make PAWS much greener!
