ASTON AND INKY BOW WOW FUND
During these difficult and challenging times of pandemic, we adhere to social distancing and sheltering in place. As a result many of us like myself and my dear friend Jennifer, find ourselves either devoid of or limited to human contact. We resort to our pets to provide that vital human need for comfort, warmth and companionship.
As I step outside my SOMA apartment located in the heart of the city and Jennifer from her home in the Outer Sunset, we encounter countless human beings who are down and out, homeless, suffering, struggling and begging for help. This harsh reality makes us take pause to feel sympathy and compassion but also to remind ourselves to be grateful and count our blessings. We all struggle with our own adversities, challenges and difficulties in life but in order to overcome and strive for betterment we must NOT GIVE UP ON OURSELVES AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER.
With that in mind, our heartfelt focus are for those who are currently homeless or struggling financially who have pets that provide the comfort and companionship amidst the loneliness and despair.
ASTON, my miniature schnauzer, has been my constant companion, best buddy and soul mate for almost 15 yrs. I often say he’s my “raison d’ètre” !
In early April of this year, his vet suggested it might be time to put him down due to a growing tumour in his paw making it painfully difficult for him to walk compounded with other health issues. Well to this day we continue to fight, heal, recover and make it through each new day. My dog has helped me through some of my darkest moments in the past. Especially now during Covid, he continues to be my source of emotional support, strength and hope for a brighter tomorrow. Our fighting spirit inspires me to help those struggling out there , who, just like many of us, only have our beloved pets to cling and hold on to.
INKY is a 4-1/2 yr old Brussels Griffon belongs to my best friend, Jennifer. She is probably the only true and genuine friend I’ve made here in SF since I relocated from the East Coast several years ago. Jennifer believes that Inky is a gift bestowed upon her through Divine Intervention. Inky was instrumental in helping her break through her darkest times of depression, extreme stress, sorrow and grief. Inky is that adorable, special, furry little constant companion who provides bountiful joy, unconditional love and daily dose of happiness!
So this Christmas in the spirit of giving, my private employers and benefactors, Patrick and Don have asked me to find a charity or worthy cause here in the city by which to donate their annual generous and sizeable gift giving contribution. Rather than simply write a check to a single charity or organisation, I proposed to do something totally unique and different for a cause that I’m passionate about. So after being granted with their approval and blessings
and partnering withJennifer, I have hereby established the:
ASTON and INKY BOW WOW FUND
It is our my mission through this fund to distribute PetFood Express gift cards valued @ $25 each. Guaranteed upstart with 50 gift cards, it is our hope to obtain enough donations to double that amount or even triple!
Jennifer and I will walk the streets of San Francisco for three (3) days starting Wednesday, Dec 23 up thru and including Christmas Day and hand them out to all those we encounter who have pets and could benefit using these gift cards to buy food/ treats/toys for their beloved pets who are often forgotten and neglected.
ALL OUR PETS ARE ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TO OUR WELL BEING AND LIVELIHOOD!
We now reach out to friends and family to offer your support in helping make our mission a success - one that will propel us to further this cause not only during this holiday season but ongoing.
Your support and generosity will
strengthen our conviction to make a difference. Together we will thrive and prevail!
Thank you very much on behalf of myself, Jennifer Toy, Patrick Horay and Don Chambers...
and a Most Grateful Bow Wow from our wonderful pets to you and yours.. who inspire us to become better human beings,
