PAWS OF LAKEY PEAK - SUMBAWA
Lakey Peak, one of surfing’s great treasures located on the central southern coast of the island of Sumbawa Indonesia, and two islands East of Bali. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind – it is a popular destination for surfers from Australia and all over the world, one could say it is a “Surfers Paradise” BUT, Lakey Peak is not paradise for dogs - far from it – the majority of the dogs there are not owned, they are left to fend for themselves, they suffer from worms, skin problems, malnutrition and year after year puppies are born adding to the ever increasing population.
There is no veterinary care for these dogs and the locals are keen to have the dogs vaccinated for parvo, distemper & rabies and other ailments but more importantly for as many dogs to be sterilised as possible, but they do not have the financial means to do this, so my daughter and I have decided to start up this Fundraising page for the dogs of Lakey Peak
We need to raise $6000 in a very short space of time as we are hiring private vets, vet nurses and dog catchers to travel from Bali at the end of June to sterilise and vaccinate as many dogs as they can in 5 days. The money raised will pay for airfares, car rental, wages, accommodation, food and veterinary supplies that is needed to undertake this project.
So many of the surfing community who go to Lakey Peak have seen these dogs who are in desperate need of help, so we are reaching out to you to ask if you can please “dig deep” and make a donation to our cause. We only have a short “window of time” to raise the money, if we are unable to reach the target then the project cannot go ahead and these dogs will continue to suffer.
Please find it in your hearts to help the dogs of Lakey Peak.
