Pause For Paws Animal Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending kill shelters and creating permanent sanctuaries for animals in need. Our vision is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome domesticated animals while providing on-site medical care, love, and a sustainable environment. Our Tucson intake offices will manage rescues and rehoming, while our sanctuary in Arizona’s White Mountains will offer rescued animals the space and care they deserve.
We are seeking $10,000 in startup funding to establish operations (80% directly to the charity, 20% to essential staff). We are currently seeking 501(c)(3) status to expand our reach and credibility. Our EIN is 39-2592547
Mission Statement: To end kill shelters and replace them with a sanctuary where rescued animals receive compassionate, long-term care, medical treatment, and the opportunity for rehoming.
Our Goals & Objectives
-Rescue & Sanctuary: Remove animals from kill shelters and provide them with lifelong care.
-Property Purchase: Acquire land in Arizona’s White Mountains for long-term housing.
-On-Site Staffing: Employ trained caregivers, veterinarians, and rehabilitation experts.
-Rehoming Efforts: Ensure animals that are ready for adoption find happy, forever homes.
-Expansion & Nationwide Reach: Grow our efforts beyond Tucson and Arizona, bringing sanctuaries to cities across the country.
The Market & Need
The current system of animal shelters is overcrowded, with many facilities facing understaffing and lack of funding, leading to high euthanasia rates. Our research and community outreach confirm that there is significant demand for ethical, permanent solutions in animal care.
Through direct engagement, we’ve received overwhelming support and recognition from the community. Many people are eager for an alternative to temporary shelters and see the importance of our mission.
Competitive Advantage
-We aren’t just another rescue - we’re a sanctuary, offering animals long-term stability rather than temporary relief.
-Live-on-site medical and care teams ensure every animal receives constant support.
-Community-driven engagement: Free training, emergency medical grants, and rescue efforts help reunite lost pets and prevent abandonment.
-Long-term expansion plan to reach national and international markets, making Pause For Paws a household name.
