Hi everyone, for the past year my boy Rico has been absolutely struggling with a very serious medical issue. As of recently, the issue has gotten worse and now requires urgent medical attention. The recommended procedures are critical to his health and survival, but the cost is completely overwhelming. If I could cover this on my own I absolutely would. I’ve always tried to be self-reliant, and I really hate having to ask for help, but not nearly as much as I hate seeing my child miserable, hurting, and struggling to get any sleep.

Rico has been unable to use his nostrils and has been breathing only through his mouth for an entire year. He now has two fluid-filled masses on his little face that connect his nasal passages to a drain track that has opened up in his gums. These masses get so full he cannot see out of his left eye. Sometimes I have to drain these masses manually just to relieve the pressure in his face. My baby deserves so much better. I wish I could explain how much I love this boy. He had such a hard life before he found me. He didn’t trust people at all, but he took a chance on me and let me love him. I didn’t need another dog, didn’t want one, but the moment I saw him I knew I was meant to be his mom, and it has been the greatest gift I could have ever asked for.
