Paws for Petty

Donation protected
My name is Angela Petty and my service dog of 10 years named Sierra recently passed away. You could say she was my better half. I have a  physical disability (C6 Quadriplegic) and I am a wheelchair user with limited mobility. Sierra helped me in more ways than most people would understand until a disability affects their life. Sierra was an extension of me. She enabled me to be more independent at home, work and in my everyday life. Her absence has left a huge hole in my life. I started to look into getting another dog and all have a wait list of 2 - 5 years. I filled out applications and received a call from Retreiving Independence. They have service dogs that are currently being trained and will be ready to place in August (2017). That's in 2 months! Just like most service dog organizations they require the recipient to invest in the cost of the training of the dog which includes breeding, housing, food, veterinarian care, shots, medication, etc., salary for trainers, cost of 10-day training camp for recipients in Nashville (hotel, food) and training materials. That cost is $15,000.
I must raise this before I can participate in the training camp where a dog will choose me to be their partner for life.

I know Sierra is watching over me and sees what a difficult time I'm having (mentally and physically). I believe she has looked at God with her big brown eyes and her beautiful smile to ask Him to provide me with another dog that will serve me well. I am asking with deep appreciation for your help in raising the $15,000 needed by August 2017. Thank you!
