Paws for Peanut

I am doing this for my daughter and her journey to continue to heal even more now than ever.

Let me tell you a little about why my daughter's story needs a little piece of help from all of you, my family and friends.

My daughter, Jewelian but we all know her as Peanut, is now 14 but 9 years ago suffered from a horrific assault. Since then Peanut has been struggling through roller coaster moments of anxiety and PTSD that is triggered even to this day. Our goal with making a GoFundMe is simply to help with getting Peanut a therapy dog and training in 6/7 weeks specifically to Peanuts needs.

I want you'all to know more about the importance of this goal for Peanut and why it's so important to her progress in her road of healing.

So the K-9 police officer that saved my daughter gave her a spitting image German Shepherd stuffed animal named Ronan after his actual K-9.  She has not let Ronan out of her sight since. Ronan is Peanuts anchor, security blanket and guardian angel to say the least.  She will have Ronan everywhere and if not, she is off... Meaning quiet, skittish, anxiety is through the rough and she can't be touched, talked to or even have my arms wrapped around her for comfort unless we have Ronan. Peanut has expressed to myself, family members and her therapist that she would feel so much better if Ronan was an actual live dog. To have unconditional loyalty, love only a dog can show and simply a companion to calm her down when she feels so overwhelmed she can't even express herself.
Peanut also asks me all the time why we haven't taken the next steps to make him a therapy dog in real life.
So I am here to ask for help with getting Peanut a real therapy dog. I have wanted to take the necessary steps to buy a dog for Peanut but it hasn't been until now that we obtained all the proper paperwork to do so. With Peanuts therapist and psychologist trying to break through all the trauma more and more with her being able to express more with age. Peanuts triggers are more intense, her night tares are more frequent and her social life is so full of angst. I feel now more than ever she  is in need of a therapy dog. The silent but impactful reassurance  a therapy dog can give Peanut will help her heal even more. Peanut is brave, caring and full of drive to get through all of life's hurdles but to have a companion at her side that is trained specifically for her, will help with the hurt, angst and trauma we all wish she never endured.

We have found a local breeder here in Wisconsin, applied for her services and we were approved. The baby boy German Shepherd pup will be available in 4 1/2 weeks. Ironically this pup was born on Peanuts birthday.

Any donation, small of big, would mean the world to my daughter, her new pup and I.

Thank you, Carmen!
