Paws For Healing: A Fundraiser for Jasper

Hi my name is Tanya and I'm fundraising for the treatment and care of my best friend Athena & John's pup Jasper. When our friends got the news recently that the vet located a mast cell-tumour, they were devastated and we readily wanted to support them and their cause, knowing that medical bills are going to be expensive. Anyone who knows them, will surely understand that the past few years have been increasingly difficult for their family. Fortunately, what has gotten them through these times has been their friends & family and their cherished pets. Although they have pet insurance for medical emergencies, the amount of the surgery far exceeds what they are covered for, especially because of Jasper's age of 11 years. Preliminary tests are promising that it was caught early, but that can't be confirmed until after his tissue biopsy results come back, which will be after the surgery to remove the turmour. It's tentatively scheduled for Tuesday January 30th. Due to its location on Jasper's body, unfortunately the vet is not certain that she is able to remove the tumour in the recommended 3cm margins around it. His symptoms suggest, however, that it may have spread to his lymp nodes or other vital organs. As a result, a follow up CT scan is recommended to see if the cancer may have spread. Depending on those results, further treatments may be necessary. With the funds raised, it will go toward their insurance deductible, surgery, CT scan, medications and a month's worth of immune supporting supplements for dogs with cancer. If we surpass the initial fundraising goal, they will also be able to cover further treatment costs, and an extra month of high quality diet, that is supportive of dogs with cancer and supplements. Every contribution, regardless of its size or denomination, will serve as a vital building block toward making a meaningful difference toward this cause. They have spent the better part of nearly the last decade, loving and caring for so many people’s precious fur family pets, and loving them like their own. So, we wanted to do whatever we could to help them, when they need a little extra love and care for their pup now. They thoroughly appreciate your efforts to help Jasper.
