Please Help Caishen Get the Surgery He Desperately Needs!
Hi, my name is Ryleigh, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet dog baby, Caishen. A few days ago, while playing a little too hard, Caishen jumped off our futon couch—one that’s barely off the ground—and landed wrong on his back left leg. Immediately, he let out the most heartbreaking, agonizing screams I’ve ever heard, and wouldn’t stop. We did everything we could to calm him and figure out what was wrong, but it was clear he was in a lot of pain.
After frantically driving to three different emergency vets and being turned away because I couldn’t afford the up-front costs, I felt like I was failing my baby. Eventually, we got an appointment 40 minutes away. The vet believes Caishen has a dislocated hip (Hip Luxation), but couldn’t offer much help, admitting that he wasn’t confident in reading X-rays.
Thankfully, we’ve now found an amazing surgical center that does everything in-house, which will reduce Caishen’s stress and give him the best care possible. It’s already been a week of applying for grants, writing essays, and trying every possible funding option. I never imagined I’d be in the position of asking publicly for help, but this isn’t about me anymore—it’s about giving my baby the chance to walk again without pain.
Caishen is still trying to stay strong and is even a little feisty at times, which we love because he hasn’t lost his spunk, even with the limp and the muscle spasms. He’s currently on temporary meds, but he urgently needs surgery so it doesn’t progress. He is literally my light at the end of the tunnel every day. He’s helped and been there for me when I was at my absolute lowest after my fiancé suddenly and traumatically passed away- which I was present for. He and I have always been in tune emotionally, but especially after that situation, he senses when my depression sneaks up and he’s there for me before it can hit hard. A girl’s true best friend❤️. I can honestly say I don’t know about my mental state if something were to happen to him or if this injury hinders his quality of life.
He doesn’t deserve this. At all. Anything you can give will help cover:
• X-rays: $300
• Consultation: $250
• Surgery: $4,200–$5,000 (including anesthesia, aftercare, and medication)
Every dollar, every share, every kind word matters more than I can say. Thank you for helping me fight for Caishen’s healing and future.
With love and gratitude,
Ryleigh
