Pawnshop Skate Co. Shop Fire

Covina community, we need your help!


Late Tuesday night, one of our local businesses, Pawnshop Skate Co ., suffered fire damage. Luckily, no one was hurt, but damage was done. If you have ever encountered Anthony or any of his talented crew, you know how dedicated they are to our community, and we want to help lift them up in this difficult time. 


Anthony started working at The Outhouse Surf and Skate, located in the exact same spot in Downtown Covina, back in the early 80s. The love he cultivated for the shop and skate culture grew from there, and he knew his ultimate goal was to own his own shop one day. After years of hard work and struggles, his dream was realized, and Pawnshop Skate Co. was born.


"This is the real deal for us and means so much because we’re so into our town, and what it’s cultivated. All the riders that have come out of here, from the 80s to the modern day… There’s nothing like a home base...I think it’s so important to have this home base where everybody can come...” - Anthony, in an interview with Deluxe (dlxsf.com)


Although insurance will help with some of the cost, we want to make sure the Pawnshop Skate Co. team gets enough assistance to replace lost merchandise and equipment, and to rebuild their home base so they can continue to keep Covina and our awesome community, well, awesome!
