Paw-lease, Help Kayla Get a Service Dog!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kayla. I am 16 years old and have been dealing with Type 1 Diabetes since I was 4 years old. Type 1 Diabetes is a life-long, genetic disease where the person’s antibodies attack your insulin beta cells. That means that the body can no longer produce its own insulin. This causes changes in blood sugar, which can make things very difficult for a person.
Since I was young, I have always wanted a service dog. A dog that will help me through this tough journey I am going through. Someone on my team. However, I understand that having a service dog is a great luxury. That is the reason I have not gotten one. In recent times, my mom and I have been looking into a service dog. That is because I have not been waking up to my blood sugar alarms at night. There have been mornings I have woken up to a low blood sugar I have had for hours. This can cause great damage to myself. I have been thinking about this more, especially with college coming up. With college, I will be on my own more often. This has been a big concern since I have not been waking up to my alarms.
With a donation from you, I will be one step closer to being able to get a service dog. I want to thank you for even taking the time to read this, and I want you to know that any penny helps.
I also want to add that if I am unable to get a service dog for some unknown reason, I will give your donations to someone else in need of a service dog.
