My name is Sheri Villa, and I am so appreciative for the opportunity to share a great passion of mine with you.
If you haven't already watched the video, I'm here today because I've been doing some serious soul searching lately. I've always been really motivated to work on different entrepreneurial projects in an attempt to better my own situation, and I'm now becoming present to the fact that it's not just all about me. So many people have helped me get to where I am today, and it's my turn to give back to the community. Hence, the birth of:
Paw It Forward Pets
I own and operate a professional dog walking service in San Francisco called Furball Fitness, and I could not have done it without the love and support of those closest to me. It's my turn to give back, and I'm so excited to be working on the behalf of others. A new-found level of fulfillment has come over me while prioritizing others over myself, and I'm so thankful to be in a position to contribute to the well-being of our communities. Let's "paw it forward" by helping both dogs and humans in need!
The Paw It Forward Pets project sponsors families in pet adoptions and furthermore funds these adoptees into the SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy program to become therapy dogs. Once their training is complete, these dogs (and cats, rabbits, and even pigs!) will then work to visit one or many of the 200+ facilities partnered with the SPCA. Locations include senior communities, pediatric centers, hospitals, schools, rehabilitation clinics, and many more.
Paw It Forward Pets aims to sponsor and enroll 30 pets into the program to start. It costs $200 to train each animal, totaling the initial goal of $6000.
Human-animal interactions have proven health benefits, and if we can work together to brighten even one person's day, then this will all be worth it.
I am so fortunate to be able to do something that I love on a daily basis, all the while with my dog walking pups constantly making my days better. Paw It Forward Pets wants to share in that love.
