We are a small group of people from Balkanabat, Turkmenistan, who care deeply about the fate of stray dogs in our country.
Here in Turkmenistan, there are no official animal shelters and no humane catching services. Stray dogs are often poisoned or killed publicly.
We run a tiny private shelter, surviving only thanks to the kindness of compassionate people. Right now, we care for about 50 dogs on a small piece of land with no water supply or gas.
Water is delivered by truck, food is cooked over open fire, and veterinary help is almost impossible to get — the nearest proper clinic is in Ashgabat, more than 400 km away.
Spaying and neutering one dog costs around $50, not including travel expenses.
The situation is critical:
Dogs urgently need food and medical help.
Many females must be spayed and males neutered to prevent fights and overpopulation.
The shelter needs basic infrastructure — a freezer for food storage, a car for transport, materials for building enclosures, and regular access to gas for cooking.
These dogs have suffered enough. They deserve safety, care, and love.
Thank you for reading and for any help you can give — every bit of support truly makes a difference. ❤️
