Hi, my name's Andre and I'm fundraising to help with my dream of becoming a hip-hop singer/songwriter. My lyricist/artist name is Chef Dre.
All my life I've been inexplicably drawn to the healing energy of music and creating expressionist art. I never really thought I had the full capacity or potential to follow my dreams, but something inside of me changed forever after experiencing the "great awakening."
Turning fear, rage, sorrow and pain into strength, clarity, positivity and creativity.
I was reborn through a higher calling.
I began my song writing odyssey in 2020 and haven't looked back since. It's quite literally saved my life. Over 200+ songs later I'm reinvigorated and ready to record them onto original instrumentals and gradually produce full length tracks/albums.
The funds will be directly used for purchasing instrumentals, professional studio recording time, mixing/mastering, sound engineering and overall composition/production.
I wish more than anything to share my art with the world and help people to see and experience life in a different light. Through melodic fusions and elements of old-school hip-hop, jazz, funk and soul, I deliver fun and relatable content touching on subjects of nature, spiritual identity, rebellion, revolution and love.
Some of my greatest creative influences come from past and current artists such as Nas, Prodigy, The Wu-Tang Clan, MF Doom, Guru, Black Thought, J Dilla, 9th Wonder, Alchemist, Madlib, and the great poet Khalil Gibran.
Growing up listening to Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin, the wild child in me found solice in these classic rock legends whose music and lyrics resonated with me throughout my adolescence.
Now in my 40's and with 4 beautiful children counting on me to be the hero they've always seen me as, I strive to be better and do something much greater. To be a voice for the youth and future generations so that we may leave this world in more capable hands, a more hopeful place for one and all.
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."
