Paul Schmelzer's biggest challenge
Donation protected
Paul Schmelzer, Paramus High School class of 1978, is in the late stages of a brutal fight with cancer. For many years, the Schmelzer's have been a pillar family in Paramus, with Mr. Schmelzer owning the Exxon station on the corner of Ridgewood and Paramus Roads for decades. Everyone who knows Paul has never met anyone else quite like him. He's a true original . . . one of a kind. Hard as it to believe, our dear friend, so full of life, love and humor is struggling mightily. We've set up this gofundme page to help out his daughter, Brittany and her family with the expenses that are mounting. Instead of sending flowers or balloons, please consider a donation to help out this cause. If you've ever smiled and shared a laugh with Paulie, you know what a special person he is. It's impossible to capture his spirit and personality in a few short sentences. Simply put, he is a larger than life presence in our world. It is profoundly sad and unfair that he is facing this damn disease. He is facing this challenge with all the bravery and wisdom you would expect. No why me, no self pity. Several friends and family will be visiting with Paul over the next few days and weeks. We will share your sentiments and comments with him during these difficult days. I am sure they will bring a smileto his face and some warmth to his heart to hear from you. If you would like to reach out to Paul directly, feel free to inbox me on FB and I will share your comments or give you his cell number so that you can send him a text. Thank you very much.
