This is Heather, Paul's wife. As many of you may know, Paul has been dealing with various illnesses/injuries over the last several years. In October 2021, Paul had an infection that almost cost him a foot, but he managed to make it through that one. In October 2023, he got another infection that, thankfully, spared his bad foot (thank God). But, in December, Paul ended up with that infection coming back and this time he was sick enough, according to the doctors, that we were worried about it taking his life. Luckily, Paul made it through, but the infection settled in his bad foot, with all of the hardware that had been previously used in repairs being infected. He was told his decision would be to lose the foot or lose his life and he chose to lose the foot.

All this background to say, he is now dealing with trying to get a prosthetic leg. Currently, there is no insurance coverage and Paul is out of work for the time being due to recovery. The cost of this new leg will be $7500, which we just don't have right now. We also know that, once Paul's leg adjusts to the prosthetic, the changes that will occur in shape and size will require a new socket to fit the prosthetic in a few months. Which means we will be facing another bill of this size. Adding all of this to the medical bills we already have is overwhelming!

We don't like to have to ask for this kind of help, as we are both pretty stubborn and prideful people, but we are at a point where we just need some help.
