Hi all! I am Shalyse and I am fundraising for my husband, Paul Benson. For those that don't know, he had a sudden cardiac arrest at home on November 24, 2023. His heart completely stopped and he received CPR until paramedics arrived. When he arrived at the hospital he was placed on life support and moved to the ICU. In January, he was able to be taken off life support with cognitive abilities but some brain injuries, due to his time without proper oxygen. He has been in a physical rehabilitation hospital for the past month but according to insurance, is not making enough progress to stay there.

He will be coming home this week, but has mounting medical bills and is unable to work. We will also need to figure out in home care assistance, especially with me now being disabled. As we continue to navigate this difficult time, any help and sharing of this post would be greatly appreciated. I just want him to worry about getting better and not about getting the care he needs to rehabilitate.

The funds will be used towards his physical therapy and care giving since he cannot feed himself yet, walk, or sit up.
