Paul's 954km Pyrenean trek to raise funds for two Charities

Hi my name is Paul, over the last 2 years I have been lucky enough to spend time in the Minervois region of France. In an attempt to get fit my daily run has been against the beautiful backdrop of the French Pyrenees. On one such run I thought to myself...'I bet there is some great trekking up there'.
I looked into what's available in the high Pyrenees and this is how I discovered the GR10 (Les Grandes Randonnées). The GR 10 is a classic, large scale, mountain walk, crossing France from one side to the other, linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, and takes in a whole range of the Pyrenees, its 954km in length with a total climb of 53,000m.
Whilst many seasoned hikers break this trek into sections, my plan is to complete the trek in one go and I hope to do so in 45 to 50 days, carrying up to 3 days supplies and sleeping out under the stars.
My goal is to raise money for 2 charities close to my heart; The Gurkha Welfare Trust and The Irish Heart Foundation.
Your support and donations would be greatly appreciated.
