Paul Pustelnik Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
I've been friends with Paul for more than 30 years, along with dozens of others who were part of the NIU Showband. I didn't know then that they would become my lifelong friends -- a group of people whose loyalty, support, and love I will treasure forever.
Paul's life was much too short, but I know that he would have wanted his kids to have the same opportunity to create these kinds of bonds during their college years. The purpose of this fund is to help ensure that Paul's kids get that chance. Anyone who knew Paul knows how much he loved his kids, above everything else, and I think this is the best gift we can possibly give to honor him.
Paul's eldest son, Robert, has been working on tall ships in Michigan this summer, and has been accepted at Plymouth University in London, where he will pursue Maritime studies in the fall. Ryan is transferring to Grand Valley State in Michigan this fall as a Sophomore, where he will study Marketing. Allison will be starting her Junior year of high school, playing softball and getting ready to make her college decisions. And James still has some time before he needs to worry about college, entering his first year of high school, but we all know how fast time flies!
This scholarship fund will be split equally between the four kids, and hopefully, will give them peace of mind that they can pursue their dreams like their father would have wanted.
If you are so inclined, in addition to your donation, please also include a favorite memory of Paul. Let's fill this page with stories that we can share with Paul's kids so they will see how much we all loved him, and take some comfort in knowing that we are here, in their corner, to help them carry on his legacy.
