Paulini’s Fight for Survival – Help Her Beat Cancer

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but also with hope. My cousin Paulini Lalabalavu is in the fight of her life, battling advanced cervical cancer, and she needs our help.

For anyone who knows Paulini, they know her by her infectious smile and warm, welcoming spirit. She has a way of making everyone feel at home, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a home-cooked meal. A true professional in the kitchen, she can turn the simplest ingredients into a feast, filling her home with the comforting aroma of love and care.

Beyond her kindness and generosity, Paulini is also a hardworking fisherwoman and farmer, rising early to provide for her family. Whether she’s casting lines into the sea or tending to the land, she does so with unwavering dedication.

But more than anything, Paulini is a mother. Her seven beautiful children are her world, and every sacrifice she has made has been for them.

The Fight Against Cancer

Paulini’s battle with cervical cancer has taken her far from home to New Delhi, India, where she has been receiving treatment. Through seven sessions of chemotherapy (with a total of nine planned), she has fought with incredible strength, and thankfully, the treatment has helped shrink the tumour.

But just as hope was within reach, a new complication has emerged—an MRI scan revealed a fistula formation between her bladder and uterus. This painful and distressing condition has made her journey even more difficult, causing severe discomfort and further impacting her health. Doctors have now advised that she needs major surgery to remove her bladder, a critical step in preventing further complications and giving her the best chance at recovery.

The cost of this surgery, along with the ongoing medical care she needs, is overwhelming for her family, who have already given everything they have to support her. Now, more than ever, she needs our help.
