Pauline became withdrawn a couple of days ago. She wasnt her usual self at all. Usually she is playing with her Animal friends, running around but she was just sat in my daughter's room. Not even barking at the door.

Last night her health declined a lot. From 6pm onwards she was getting worse by the minute. I called the vet. They referred us to an online consultation. There advise was wrong that it would be fine to leave it until the morning. I did tell them that I fel she was going to die.

This morning we took her in to the vet. Who emediatly put her in an oxygen tank. We left her in for observations. They were very worried about her and said it didnt look good.

We then got a call to say she would need emergency surgery. She has fluid on the outside of her lungs. They don't know what the fluid is. It will need to be drained and examined. They also said her breathing is so bad she may not survive the anaesthetic.

She may then need to be transferred to an accute hospital. At this point it would get very expensive and we need to think realistically sadly if we can afford that. We cant even afford the first part.

So we are currently awaiting news and Pauline is in her 1st surgery.

Pauline is a ridiculous dog. When we got her we knew that she was sick. A victim of some awful breeding I think. At Christmas she was in hospital with her knees. She is only 2 years old. Considering no one wanted her she is so loved here and fits in well with her animal friends. Her best friend being Quercus the kitten. Before she finally went to the vet her animal and human friend sat right next to her all night.

If you could donate just a pound or 2 it would all help.

We are worried about the bill. We dont have savings.

UPDATE: SADLY PAULINE WAS PTS LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. WE GOT THERE IN TIME TO BE WITH HER. SHE DIED IN MY ARMS IN A BLANKET FRoM HOME. THE OXYGEN WAS THE ONLY THING KEEPING HER ALIVE LONG ENOUGH FOR US TO GET THERE.

THEY COULDN'T STOP THE BLEEDING.

HER GUMS WERE WHITE. WHEN SHE SAW US SHE LEAPED FROM HER LIFELESS STATE IN HER OXYGEN TANK AND TRIED TO RUN TO US BUT FELL. PAULINE LOVED HER HUMANS SO MUCH. HER HUMANS WERE EVERYTHING TO HER. I'M SO GLAD WE GOT THERE.

NEROLI MY DAUGHTER HELD HER IN THE BACK OF THE VAN COMING HOME. AFTER CUDDLING AND STROKING HER FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS WE BURIED HER IN THE GARDEN BY CANDLE LIGHT.

THE HOUSE IS SO QUIET WITHIUT HER ENDLESS ENTHUSIASTIC GREETINGS AND LOVE.
