Ten days ago, Paulina and Miguel received the news that no one ever wants to hear: "you have cancer". Just the word itself hits like a sledgehammer, and the thought that one has it is like being put in a ring with a world-class prizefighter.  A whole new life opens up and consumes you, only it is now a life consumed with fighting off death, and a silent, insidious enemy. 

Thankfully we are not alone in such times, and Jesus promises that He is ALWAYS with us, in fire, in floods...and in this too! We are SO thankful for all the known and unknown family and friends who have taken a position of prayer and intercession for Paulina and the family during these days. 

Treatment is this: ten weeks of every other week chemotherapy, then surgery, then radiation.  Medically, the future is uncertain. We have faith and trust in the doctors and nurses at the Clovis Community Cancer Institute. They are a nationally recognized program with teaching-hospital level accreditation. Their care and compassion and expertise is very reassuring. The best treatment is being done.  There are also many many people of faith who are holding Paulina and the family before the Throne of Grace for healing strength, courage, and support during these days.

Expenses during this time are also unknown. Miguel will be missing work whenever necessary. Things that go along with cancer treatment will be needed. What care and how long it will be will only be known as they make this journey. Our social media platforms make it so simple to communicate, support and encourage one another. We would like to ask you to pray and consider giving to do just that during this challenging journey.
