Family and Friends,
Three years ago, our mom, Paulette Polite, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. Multiple myeloma is a rare, incurable blood cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell which originates in the bone marrow. Her diagnosis started off as inactive and over the years has progressed onto stages that require more involved treatments.
Aside from the cancer diagnosis, and most of you are probably aware, mom has fought a continuous battle of lower body immobility. This became severe last year when she suffered nerve damage in her right leg, causing extreme pain and resulting in complete loss of sensation and movement. Minor feeling and mobility have returned but nowhere near enough to get around without a walker and/or wheelchair, therefore, my parents will have to make significant renovations to their home in order to make her basic needs accessible.
The bottom line is that the mounting costs are becoming difficult for all of us to handle, so here we are, humbly asking for your help, as best as you are able. While insurance covers what it can, her type of cancer is not curable, which means we'll have her lifetime of treatments ahead of us.
We are sincerely and tremendously grateful for any contribution as we need to meet medical financial obligations promptly and plan to begin home renovations as soon as early fall.

For those of you who personally know this one of kind, upbeat woman, please know that although she is often frustrated with the outcome and despite the uphill battle she faces, she's maintaining a positive attitude, enjoying her life as best as she can, loving on her gran-babies, indulging in way too much television and as you would assume, still talking on the phone everyday, to everybody.
