Paulette and Joe Thorp’s recovery: Love.Give.Share

As a friend of the family, I am sharing the Thorp family’s story with you today because they need your help. Paulette and Joe Thorp may have a long road to recovery following an accident but between you and me, we can put an end to any worries Paulette and Joe Thorp may have. Your love and support in any manner will be accepted gratefully by their family!

On Thursay, March 14th at 10:17am our family received a text that everyone would dread…

“Dad: 911, In a wreck.”

Then silence followed…

Not knowing the full extent of the accident our family scrambled to Otsego Memorial Hospital to make sure our parents were ok. Before we knew it our mother Paulette Thorp was air flighted to Munson Medical Center In Traverse City from Otsego Memorial in Gaylord. Shortly after, our father Joe Thorp was sent via ambulance to the same facility in Traverse City.

Paulette arrived and went into emergency surgery. Joe arrived shortly after and was sent to the ICU. After further testing on both of them. Joe suffered and diagnosed with a few fractured ribs and fractured T7 and T8 vertebrae’s. Paulette on the other hand wasn’t as fortunate… Hematoma inside her colon, two separate brain bleeds, fractured ribs, small stroke, and multiple non surgical fractures on her pelvis.

Both have a long road to recovery and have endured a major unexpected shift in their lives. With a lot of unknowns and unforeseen expenses. This late in their lives it will be hard to navigate especially when it comes to their finances and quality of life.

We are asking for donations to help our parents thru this difficult time and hoping this can provide and lessen the financial burden that they will experience for the rest of their lives. This is no easy task and any help would be greatly appreciated.
