In late August, we will be tying the knot in a little redwood grove in northern California. Because both of us are *gasp* in our 40s, it's safe to say we have pretty much all the standard registry items more youthful newlyweds would normally request. Therefore, in lieu of sending you shopping to purchase diamond-encrusted tongs or a set of aerospace titanium hand forged silverware, we're setting up this GoFundMe as a kind of money pool. Once all donations are collected, we will be distributing them in three ways:

25% will go to the San Francisco SPCA where Jason made probably the second best decision of his life by deciding to adopt Caleb (the first, of course, being deciding to propose to Paulette). Were it not for this animal shelter and their work, Jason and Paulette likely would not have met.

25% will go to Keep Tahoe Blue , a non-profit whose sole purpose is preserving Lake Tahoe and keeping the surrounding natural area beautiful, clean, safe, and environmentally healthy. Tahoe has a special place in our story – it’s where Jason proposed after all – and we want to go back for many more hikes, bikes, romps with Caleb through the forest, swims in the lakes, and breaths of the fresh mountain air.

The remainder will go to our honeymoon fund! We haven’t quite nailed down exactly where we want to go, but knowing how much help we’re going to get will surely narrow it down a bit. While we of course like nice things, we both value experiences more, and the memory of our honeymoon that you’ll have helped us take will last longer than an Instapot or gold-plated soup ladle.
