Seven years ago, our family shared my mother Paula’s story at the very beginning of her fight with cancer. What followed was an outpouring of love, generosity, prayers, and support that carried us through some of the harder times.
Because of you—your donations, messages, meals, rides, check-ins, and constant encouragement—my mother was able to receive care, support herself through treatment, and focus on living, not just surviving. There are truly no words to express how beautifully your kindness showed up for her. It mattered. It still does.
Over the last seven years, Paula fought with everything she had. She faced this journey with strength, humor, faith, and grace. Your support and her will has given us more time, more memories, and more love than we ever thought possible.
Today, we are sharing that Paula is now transitioning into full-time hospice care. After a long and incredibly hard fight, our focus is now on keeping her comfortable, peaceful, and surrounded by love. This is a tender and sacred time, and we are doing our best to walk it with the same strength she has shown us all along.
We are once again asking for support—not because the first time didn’t work, but because it worked so well. Any contributions now will help cover 24/7 care and daily living expenses, and will allow us to focus fully on being present with her during this time.
If you are unable to give, please know that sharing this, keeping us in your prayers, or holding Paula in your heart means just as much.
From the bottom of our hearts: thank you for loving my mother, for believing in her fight.
With endless gratitude,
Jamelia
