My name is Paula and I have been feeding 20 homeless wildcats twice a day for 2 and a half years out of my own pocket, which costs me $350 a week for a variety of wet food and dry food, including dental food, hairball food, and flea and tick pills.
These cats live outside all year round, and the only food for them to eat are the blue lizards, which cause distemper. They have 7 days to live unless they get to the vet to get a distemper shot, and if that does not happen, they will die according to the animal control officer. Distemper is highly contagious; if one cat has it and lies down next to another cat that doesn't have it, the cat with distemper will pass it along to the healthy cat.
These cats' ribs were sticking out, and they were starving when I first encountered them coming up and down the driveway. Recent spaying and neutering have helped in controlling the population, but they still have to eat. Your donation would help give these cats a more comfortable life.
