My 4 year journey:
My name is
Paula Pollard Jones, I'm 46 years old and have a beautiful family.
As some may already know, I have Osteomyelitis/osteonecrosis in my upper left maxilla. (infection of the bone)
Also Odontogenic Sinusitis.
It started 4 years ago when one day I woke up and one of my molar teeth (#15) didn't feel right. Couple of months later I had to have it extracted. Not good for a Dental Hygienist's ego. Yes, I'm a Dental Hygienist. Graduated from UAB School of Dentistry in 1995. These kind of things don't happen to us dental folks, right? Well yes they can!! The Lord had and has a plan for me.
See I've had 7 surgeries, one being a sinus surgery,  7 biopsies and each time taking away more bone and teeth each time. I've had 4 PICC Lines over the past 3 years. IV antibiotics for 6 weeks at a time and have been on oral antibiotics for 2 years in between IV's trying to kill the horrific bacteria that is destroying my maxilla and sinus.
I did Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, 40 treatments and may do 40 more treatments depending on funding. This is supposed to help kill the bacteria along with the antibiotic therapy.
This treatment alone is thousands and thousands of dollars.
I've only worked sporadically over the past couple of years and have not worked at all in a year and 8 months, which makes money very tight. Medical bills.....well I just laugh and have faith they will get paid.
I have a fistula (a hole) in the roof of my mouth that will not close. It's open to my sinus, I've never had anxiety much in my life, I am a very together person, control freak probably in areas, so I have no time for anxiety!! Well, satan has tried his best to destroy me from the inside, out. I rebuke him in Jesus Name he has no authority over me or my mind!! See this bacteria in my cheek can eat your face off if not KILLED!!! Doctor's tell me it's worse than chemo, radiation or cancer because antibiotics are sometimes resistant. NOW, this my friends will cause anxiety!!!
Through all this, it can ALWAYS BE WORSE. I sit in waiting rooms full of people much sicker (if that's a word LOL) than I am or worse. The Lord has blessed me with a BEAUTIFUL family and I pray the Lord keeps me here to watch over them.

I am having my 8th surgery Aug. 25, 2017. They will pull blood supplies from my cheek again and harvest tissue from palate with blood supply to cover the hole. This time they will wire my mouth shut for 3 weeks minimum. I'm claustrophobic so this will be QUITE interesting!!
#1 is Faith, #2 Grace, #3 compassion with these things I think all things are possible though Him the Lord Jesus Christ :)
